Some useful General FAQ's
Can I have a sub domain?
To add a sub domain you need to enter what you want the sub domain to be called and which directory it will point to.
For example you might want the sub directory:
support.yourdomain.com
Where the files for the sub domain are held in:
www.yourdomain.com/support
To delete a subdomain or change the directory that it points to you simply need to edit the details listed in the ‘Edit Sub Domains’ section.
I can't delete the contents of my webspace completely, why is that?
There are certain folders which are used and created by the webserver. If you atempt to delete them, the webserver will automatically create them. The 'public_html' folder is one such directory. If deleted it will be recreated, but no index file will be placed in there, and so an error will result when trying to find the website.
Please ensure that all your website files are uploaded into the 'public_html' folder, any files placed in the root directory of the webspace will not be accessible.
My links are not working. What is wrong?
Make sure that you have specified the correct file path, especially if you are using sub-directories. Your links should not refer to a physical location on your computer's hard drive, such as the a: or c: drive.
You should also be sure that you are using the correct file names and that you have uploaded all of the referenced files to the correct directory.
I've uploaded my site on my hosting account but cannot see it?
Before contacting support, please read the following points:
Is your domain on the correct name servers? To use our hosting package, your
domain name needs to be on our nameservers. You can check this from the whois database at www.coolwhois.com or www.allwhois.com.
If you have purchased hosting, remember that it takes 24 hours for the DNS
changes to point your domain at your web space.
If your name servers and DNS are correct then check that you have uploaded
the files to the correct directory which is the public_html folder and make sure the
index.html page has a small [i] in index.html and not Index.html.
Also make sure that you have uploaded the files using the right transfer
mode: most of the FTP clients check that for you automatically but a few don't. text/script/html files have to be uploaded using text or ASCII Mode. Pictures have to be uploaded using BINARY Mode.
Where do I find the Web Builder?
Log in to your eXtend Control Panel and if you have the Web Builder the link to it will be at the bottom right of the front page. Please note that not all accounts include the Web Builder.
